Marta Masferrer is a Cuban-American director, producer, and editor whose work has screened at international festivals, including Cinequest, Cannes Short Film Corner, and SXSW. Her graduate thesis film, ASTERNAUTS, played at over 40 festivals, earning 13+ awards, including Best Screenplay (Porto7), Best Cinematography (HollyShorts), and the Audience Award (Cortópolis Madrid).
She was selected for the prestigious “Sounds of Summer” Film Accelerator led by renowned Argentinian filmmaker Lucrecia Martel, where her scene was included in a feature film currently in development. She was also a 2020 finalist for the NBC Alternative Directing Program, designed for directors in unscripted television.
Marta is an alumna of the Berlinale Talent Campus (Talent Award finalist) and the UCLA Professional Screenwriting Program. She has been recognized as an AIVF Screenwriting Fellow, a NALIP Documentary & Narrative Fellow, and an IFP New York Project Involve Honoree. As an editor, she contributed to Las Marthas, a PBS documentary that premiered on Independent Lens.
She holds an MFA in Film Directing from Columbia University (Dean’s Fellowship recipient) and a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University (Wilfred Readio Award for Artistic Achievement).
Throughout her career, Marta has collaborated with production companies, PR firms, ad agencies, nonprofits, and networks to create multi-platform digital content.
